Bridget Agius
Course: Graduate Diploma in Theology
I chose YTU basically because it was closest to home, but also because I had met some lovely people who were studying there while I was doing a course at the “Heart of Life” centre which made for some interesting lunchtime conversation.
Having been at YTU for over a year now, I have come to appreciate many things…
- the reassurance from teachers that there are no stupid questions
- the in-depth knowledge, faith and good teaching ability of the teachers
- the encouragement and ‘tools’ given to study the biblical texts for ourselves and to appreciate but not be intimidated by the scholars
- the peaceful surroundings… the monastic style building and the opportunity to just sit and watch the birds and the guinea pigs roam free in the garden courtyard
- the small classes and the diversity of students which helps me to see things from different perspectives
- plenty of free car parking
Not to say I don’t still struggle through my essays…but it’s all deeply worth it!!
