Course: Bachelor of Theology

After completing a Spiritual Leaders’ Course at the Heart of Life Spirituality Centre I enrolled at YTU for one unit, Mark’s Gospel. The Spiritual Leaders’ course had been a profound experience, which left me with a thirst and hunger for more. Rather tentatively, I decided to try out the academic experience with no real expectation of completing a degree. However, after my first foray into Mark I was hooked! My hunger and thirst grew much stronger and three years later I’m studying full-time, having left my part-time job, and am about to complete my BTheol.

My experience at YTU is life-giving. It nourishes my mind, but more importantly, it nourishes my spirit. My faith is challenged and also strengthened. It is a faith to be lived – a verb, rather than a noun. As I learn more I find that there is more I want to discover, to understand, to experience and to know. I continue to be inspired and guided by lecturers, whose knowledge of their area of expertise and their love of God is wholly infectious. The ambience here is of a tranquil oasis amid the bustle of life. YTU has a wonderful pastoral feel about it, and I delight in the sense of community I share with my fellow students. I feel truly blessed!
